Artist Bio: Karen Marie Richardson

2453583 copyKaren Marie Richardson Edge Chicago proclaims Karen’s voice “A gift from God… The subtlety of her musicality is simply gorgeous.” Karen currently appears as nightclub singer Stella Sinclair in the Off-Broadway phenomenon SLEEP NO MORE, where she’s improvised duets with such pop music luminaries as Pink and John Legend. National Tour credits include starring as the title character in Duke Ellington’s opera QUEENIE PIE. Other theatre credits include: multiple productions of HAIRSPRAY (Motormouth Maybelle), AIN’T MISBEHAVIN’  (Nell Carter), and RAGTIME (Sarah’s Friend). Concerts include touring with TOO HOT TO HANDEL: THE JAZZ-GOSPEL MESSIAH, I GOTTA RIGHT TO SING THE BLUES, and ELLA FITZGERALD: FIRST LADY OF SONG. Karen can also be seen online as a featured vocalist with the viral video sensation Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox, as well as singing backup for recording artist Andra Day on television programs including GOOD MORNING AMERICA and LATE NIGHT WITH STEPHEN COLBERT.
